Designed by Poul Cadovius, 1959As a furniture designer, Poul Cadovius was best known for his iconic shelving systems, such as the ROYAL SYSTEM® from 1948. With the introduction of the dining chair PIA CHAIR in 1959, he was also able to include the title of chair designer in his CV. He wanted to create a chair in the spirit of the time, inspired by other design chairs of the 50s, but lighter and "petite", both in body weight and design expression. The Pia Chair has been developed according to a "less is more" concept, which focuses on the lowest possible material consumption while maintaining a high level of detail and excellent comfort.
